Did you know the Poplar Hill and District Lions have raised over $1 million since inception?
First sponsored by the Ilderton Lions Club (which we still have very strong links with) on March 22nd 1979, The Poplar Hill and District Lions Club came into it’s own when the Charter was ratified on May 25th 1979 with Lion Wayne Greig as our first President and has served the local community for over forty years! We meet the First and Third Tuesday of each month with the exception of July and August.
We support local events, charities and sporting facilities by raising funds in the community which we give back to the community! For a club of it’s size, we are one of the most active and run many very successful events throughout the year.
We brave all weathers as Lions
Our most successful event of the year by far!

Simple whole family entertainment
Our community supported the fires in Fort McMurray
Parades-a-plenty with the Poplar Hill Hillbillys
A bumper effort in our last warm days
We remember all of our fallen heros

Eyes down for a festive season favourite
We don’t just do events. . . . we have FUN!
To mark Lion’s Club International’s 100th anniversary in 2017, the Lions International held their annual rally in Chicago, Illinois where Lions from all over the world attended this auspicious occasion. Members of Poplar Hill and District Lions Club took their Poplar Hillbilliy’s float across to the USA.
Not only did they partake in the parade with floats from all over the world, they WON FIRST PRIZE!
How about that for putting Poplar Hill and District on the world map!

The Township Hall (shown below) at Coldstream is the usual meeting place for our club and the venue for many of our supported functions. The monies gratefully received from our Lion’s events is donated to many of the local organizations and causes
