The Lions organization became international on 12 March 1920, when the first club in Canada was established in Windsor, Ontario.
District A-1 is proud to be part of Lions Club International History.

A LITTLE ABOUT OUR DISTRICTS

Multiple District A covers Ontario and Quebec Provinces. It is the division that made the Lions interational in 1920 with the first Lions Club outside the USA when one opened in Windsor. District A was sub-divided in 1938 as Lions Clubs spread in Canada. 

Southern Ontario is District A-1 with 50 clubs.

Lion Harry A. Newman of Toronto became the first International President in 1924 with Lions Clubs spreading into Canada

District A-1 visits

District A-1 delegates visit the
Poplar Hill & District Lions Club. The mixing of District A-1 with the Zones and individual clubs is paramount to friendship and Lionism.
